I WILL NOT BE SHAKEN
I was sitting in the coffee shop with 2 of my girlfriends. We had an agenda and we stopped for coffee to fuel us up for the day and finalize our game plan for the day. We began catching up, talking about our families and what we had planned in our personal lives. One conversation lead to another and boom, we're three hours in. Time fly's when you're having fun!
We discussed our ministry gifts and how we felt God was using us in this season of our lives. We went on to chat about what the future plans were and what direction God was moving us into. Good conversation y'all!! At some point we began to talk about our personal stories and how God has used some of the most horrific, horrendous situations in our lives and has turned them for our good. I will not give their testimonies, because they aren't mine to give.
What God did for us are things we all had prayed for. Now the outcome is what we desired, BUT getting to that place has definitely been a journey. How we arrived to the outcome is not how WE intended. Thinking back, all I can do is smile because God tells us in Isaiah 55:8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. So duh, how could we even be surprised? He knows our end from our beginning. He trusted us with the very battle we faced and He was a man of His word to carry us through it!
My greatest takeaway from our spontaneous coffee shop talk was "God will only use what you give Him". Hear me out, don't get me wrong, he's God, He can do ALL THINGS! I'm saying when we bring him our fragmented heart and brokenness, He begins to do a work in and through us. The path it takes for us to become whole may not look how we fathomed. There may even be times when you feel like giving up or that you can't make it another day. Of course the battle is not easy, but in the end, it will be worth it. Sis, I encourage you to keep going! Keep walking by faith because even when you don't know where you're going, those steps are being ordered by God. When you harbour bittnerness, anger, frustration, and sin, you are not leaving room for God to move. You become stagnant and stuck in your current situation.
You can't even see the light at the end of the tunnel. Spoiler alert, that light is the light of the world.
Once you release that "thing" to the Lord, you will gain a fresh perspective. Your lens is no longer clouded with your burdens and sins You have granted your Heavenly Father access to come in. I'm not saying things will begin to change immediately, but you will begin to see His hand working in your life.
"Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken." Psalm 55:22. What a comfort to know that even in the darkest of hours in your life, God will never allow you to be shaken!
